Under Cover

Aspen went on a secret mission to make a delivery to her secret grandma for Activity Days. Supposedly her secret grandma has a security camera, so Aspen needed a disguise. She's so cute! And in case you were wondering, mission accomplished!

Super Bowl LI

We invited the Zobrists over to watch the game with us. Its the first time we've really watched anything in the new basement. We filled the kitchen counter with more food than we could eat! We're neither Patriot nor Falcon fans, we just wanted a good game! Well, we sure got one! Falcons started out on fire but then the Patriots decided to show up! The Patriots caught up and the game went into overtime with the score tied at 28. It was the first time in history a Super Bowl game has gone into overtime! Patriots won the coin toss going into OT and took the ball. They completed pass after pass all the way down the field to score the winning touch down! Patriots won 34 to 28 making it their 5th Super Bowl championship. Gisele's protection necklace to Tom Brady must have been lucky too!

This Boy

Colter asked if he could sleep on our floor. I know he would be more comfortable in his own bed and so I normally tell him no, but tonight I said yes. He made this little bed on the floor and covered his head with with his blanket and fell fast asleep.

Mom's Girls Night and Dad's Date Night

The first Friday of every month is Mom's Girls Night, which means it's also Dad's Date Night with the kids!

After lying in bed for the past week and a half with pains that come and go, and a day of being dehydrated and thinking I had a kidney infection, a girls night was just I needed! Great food, even better friends, and laughter is always good for my soul! I love these women!

Dad took the kids to JCW's to have hamburgers for dinner. They ran into our friends, the Pughs, so they ate together! After hanging out with the Pugh's, they went to Nickel-Mania to play some arcade games. Here, they just won 250 tickets on a game. The other highlight of the night was when a young man who was playing a ball drop game won 1000 tickers and gave them to Colter! It was such a kind gesture and made Colter the happiest kid on earth! The kids all chose prizes at the end of the night. Aspen got a blow-up rainbow ice cream cone, Bentley got a notebook, and Colter and Dahlia got stuffed animal snakes. Colter got a green one and Dahlia, a red one.

All About Aspen

A joke by Aspen- Q: How many nails does a pizza have? A: One big crust! ( I don't get it either.) 08/21/2011
Aspen was watching Barney when they asked, "What do you know?" Aspen replied back to the tv: "I know my mom loves me." Ahhh. 11/29/2010
Aspen lost her first tooth... while we were checking out of the Luxor. 06/25/2010
Mom: "What was your favorite part about today?" Aspen: "That my tooth got loose." 06/08/2010
I was lying down with Aspen at bedtime (my favorite time to "talk") when I asked her if we should have another baby soon. Her reply was, " Yes, we need to have another boy, so we'll have 3 boys and 3 girls (she was counting Adam and me). She continued, "But you have to do it later to get a boy. If you do it too early you get a girl." "If you do what too early?" I asked. "Go to the hospital." she answered. I was so curious what she was going to say because she was actually talking about (whisper this next word) sex, but didn't know it. When I asked her how she knew all of that, she said she heard me talking about it on the phone. I had been talking to a friend about a book I had read and had let the friend borrow on choosing the sex of your baby. Aspen sure had listened well, she had it right, everything except for the hospital part. I wish she would listen that well when I ask her to clean her room. 05/29/2010
"I hope you're having a good time up there." (As she was praying) 05/04/2010
Papi: "Aspen, mom is spilling." Aspen: "It's okay. She's in charge of the house." 03/06/2010
Aspen: "Does chocolate milk have more 'pro-teen'?" Mom: "Than what?" Aspen: "Than rootbeer?" Mom: "Yes." Aspen: "What's pro-teen?" 03/03/2010
"What if there's the last person that died and no one is there to bury him?" 02/23/2010
Aspen: "I have an appetite about that cheese." Mom: "What does that mean?" Aspen: "I don't like it?" 01/08/2010

Bits On Bentley

While we were driving in the car Bentley asked me how you buy your first car. I told her that you first have to save your money and then you go to the dealership where they sell cars and you test drive them to see which car you like. She interrupted me and asked, "But how do you get there?" I understood what she meant and told her that you have to have somone take you. I told her that you go in the same car, but then you drive your new car home. A few minutes later she asked, "How did the first person buy a car?" I asked, "You mean if no one else had a car to take them?" "Maybe they went in a horse and buggy?" Smart girl. 06/23/2012
Aspen and Bentley helped move some of our neighbors to an apartment just down the street right by the movie theaters while their house is being built. Every time we are down that way, my girls talk about helping the family move and all the places they live by that they can walk to. They think that's super cool. This last time Bentley said, "They are so lucky! They can walk to the movie thedeeyer (theater)! Are you kidding me??" 06/07/212
Bentley learned to say "hospital", not "hostible." 05/30/2012
Mom: "Did you get enough to eat?" Bentley: "I just need to fill up my spaces with cookie." 02/06/2012
"How can Santa even see our Christmas list? Maybe Jesus tells him." 12/2011
If they're super mean, I'll just pay 'em." 12/2011
"Mom, my poop is like cinnamon toast!" 10/01/2011
Bentley learned to snap (from watching Special Agent Oso) 06/29/2011
It looked like Bentley was plugging her nose, so I asked her, "What's the matter?" Bentley said, "Nothing, I'm just trying to pick some dry snot off my nose." 04/29/2011
I was lying in bed, sick from the pregnancy and Crohn’s when Bentley came into my bedroom. She asked if she could make herself some cinnamon toast. I answered her in the negative, by saying I would come and make it for her in just a minute. She let out a disappointed sigh, and admitted, “Well… I already made it.” “You did??” I replied. “How did you do it?” I asked. She proceeded to excitedly tell me all she had carefully done to make herself the snack. I didn’t know she was big enough to make her own cinnamon bread (it turned out), but I guess our Bentley-girl is full of surprises! 02/2011

Catching Up With Colter

There was some tape left on one of our can lights in the vaulted ceiling from hanging balloons. Adam noticed it but when I asked him if he needed the ladder to get it down, our little Colter said, "I'm going to get it myself!" He got doen from him chair and started to walk down the hall towards the bedrooms, where we don't keep the ladder, "Because I'm really really strong! I'm going to get the ladder!" He came back a moment later and asked, "Where is it?" 05/16/2012
"Yes sir, man!" 04/30/2012
I was asking Colter about nursery today when I asked him, "Were you mean?" Colter replied, "No." So I asked him, "Were you nice?" Colter again replied, "No." Then I asked him, "Well, then what were you?" Colter responded, "Colter!" 03/25/2012
Colter's newest word and response today has been, "Wuuuuuut?" (Drawn out and gradually higher in pitch.) 02/28/2012
Colter has been potty training a little for the past few months, nothing really serious, mostly just putting him on the toilet when he has asked. Sometimes he goes, and sometimes he just sits there and reads books. This morning he wanted to sit on the toilet and when I came back he had gone! (He seems to do better sometimes if I give him some private time.) So we clapped and called Dad and made a big deal of Colter going poop in the potty! He was so proud if himself. So proud that when I asked him if he wanted to flush the toilet, usually one of his favorite parts, he held up his hand in a stopping motion and said, "Not yet!" I guess he wanted to admire his good work a little longer. I kept asking if he was ready to flush and he kept holding his hand(s) out to motion stop and telling me, "Not yet!" in that adorable little two-year old voice. I couldn't help but laugh every time he said it, I'm sure part of the reason he kept saying it. It's so cute when they say certain words for the first time! 02/22/2012
A couple weeks after I had Dahia, I was sitting in the rocking chair with Colter. He pushed on belly, which was still nice and gushy from being pregnant, and said, "Beep, beep!" 09/21/2011
Is it too early for Colter to have a molar? He's not even 15 months! 12/2010
Colter has taken a few steps here and there but is officially walking all around our house! 12/15/2010
Colter started crawling! 06/06/2010
Colter cut his first tooth! Bottom left. I love and hate when they get their first tooth. I'm going to miss that gummy smile. 05/18/2010
Colter rolled over (front to back) today! 02/28/2010

The Dish on Dahlia

Dahlia learned to clap 06/28/2012
Dahlia cut her first tooth! 06/04/2012
Dahlia sat up! 04/06/2012
Dahlia is army crawling at 6 months 03/29/2012
Dahlia is up on her hands and knees! 03/25/2012
We moved Dahlia from her cradle to her crib! Hopefully she'll start sleeping though the night! 03/2012
Dahlia has juat become a pro at rolling from her back to her tummy. Now if she could just remember how to roll from her tummy to her back. 02/28/2012
Dahlia rolled over from her front to her back! It was off of a little throw pillow, and I think it was just a fluke thing because she's only 3 weeks old. I don't know if it really counts. 09/28/2011
Dahlia's on her way to being a great sleeper. She's not even a month old and last night she slept from 10:00 to 5:30! Yay! 09/27/2011
