I Can't Have A Baby Because I Have To Can Peaches!

Last year I canned peaches for my first time with my friend Val and her mom. There's no denying it- I'm hooked now. I have LOVED having the best home canned peaches to eat all throughout the year. This year I took the task on by myself, except for the help that Adam's mom gave me when she got home from work (Thanks, Shirley).

Happy Birthday To Me: Part II

Adam did a great job giving me a wonderful 30th birthday. I woke up around 8:00, but I think he had been up since 5:00 that morning getting everything ready. As I came out of our bedroom, he handed me a schedule for the day with 9 + 21 (the date) = 30 (my age) at the top, and all that he had planned for me, which included many 30's. For example: 8:00am Breakfast- Enjoy 30 minutes and 30 pieces of fruit. (take longer, and eat more if you choose). It was very cute.

I went upstairs to start my schedule and found a beautiful bouquet of roses on the counter! There were 9 white roses and 21 red roses, a total of 30!

Adam had planned a full day and we did it all. He scheduled a pedicure and then a massage for me, he took the car to be detailed, we had lunch, went to a movie with the girls, went home for an hour and a half (I snuck in a nap), and had dinner at Texas Roadhouse (my favorite!) that night with a few friends I didn't know were going to be there! Aspen and Bentley, on the other hand, were NOT supposed to be there, but when we tried to leave them, Aspen became hysterical. I didn't want to leave her that way, especially on my birthday, so I finally told her she could come. Bentley, who was right there when I gave in, immediately said, "Me come too" and of course, she did. We couldn't bring one and not the other. They were both asleep when we arrived at the restaurant. Great. Aspen woke up and, I have to say, was good the whole time. She sat glued to my side, holding my arm, and was so happy to be there with us. Bentley stayed asleep all through dinner (in Karlin and Jason's baby's infant car seat- Thanks, you guys!), and woke up as we were finishing up, when all the servers were shouting their birthday yee-haws. They brought over a saddle for me to sit in, but at 8 months pregnant, that wasn't happening, and gave me free ice cream, which Aspen ate. I was saving room for the Gretchen's Golden Nugget I made Adam drive out to Leatherby's to get me. You can't go wrong with Leatherby's caramel!

It was a great 30th birthday. I definitely felt loved. Both our families made me feel loved as we celebrated on Sunday. Everyone who surprised me at dinner made me feel loved. I received phone calls, phone messages, text messages, and facebook messages from many family and friends who made me feel loved. Aspen and Bentley made me feel loved. And Adam, my sweet husband, made me feel loved, with everything he did to make sure my day was special. I love you, Adam!

Happy Birthday To Me: Part I

We normally don't double down when it comes to visiting our families on Sundays, but took on the challenge so we could celebrate my birthday with the Wrights and the Baigues. It was also my aunts last Sunday here and all my brothers were coming to dinner to see them before they left to go back to France.

At the Wrights...

Adam's brother, Matthew, and his wife, Annie, were born on the same day in September, in the same year. How crazy is that? My birthday is a week after theirs so we share a birthday cake each year as Adam's family sings to the three of us.

We had to blow out only our set of birthday candles. Going last made that a piece of cake- no pun intended.

At the Baigues...

Aspen and Bentley helping me blow out my candles.

30-years old (the next day) and 38 weeks pregnant.

The cutest girls ever bringing me my presents.

Thank you everyone for all the gifts!

Chris And Azy Sealed In The Salt Lake Temple

We were able to leave the kids, except the one in my tummy, and joined the friends and family that attended Chris and Azy's temple sealing in the Salt Lake Temple. We took a few pictures on the temple grounds and then went over to Olive Garden for lunch. Congratulations Chris and Azy! We love you!!

Sushi And The Symphony

We enjoyed a night out with my family, including my two aunts who have less than a week left before they go back to France. We went out for delicious sushi at Ginza, followed by a rickshaw ride for my Tata Madeleine and me, courtesy of my Dad, to Cirque de la Symphonie with the Utah Symphony at Abravanel Hall. The show combined performances from aerialists and acrobats with classical music. It was amazing! To top it all off, we saw David Archuletta on a double date at the concert- no picture to prove it though.

Oh My Heck!

I was taking out a milk jug to put in our Winder dairy box when I saw this pretty thing just to the side of the front door. I went back in the house and grabbed my camera to take some pictures, mainly so I could show/ freak out Adam, when he got home from volleyball. I was not looking forward to killing this spider, and decided to go inside to ask Adam's dad if squashing a black widow was the best way to kill it. Bless his heart, he grabbed a paper towel, came out, and got it for me. This picture send shivers up my spine. Blehck!

Sibling Class

Adam and I took a tour of the hospital a few weeks ago to see where I'll be delivering. At the end of the tour I heard someone ask the tour guide about a kid class. My ears perked up and as I heard more it sounded like a fun thing for Aspen and Bentley. Aspen always asks if she can come to my appointments and wanted to come the night we went for the adult tour, so I was excited for something that involved kids.

The nurse giving the sibling class taught the kids three rules of having a new baby in your home: 1- Wash your hands, 2- Sit down, and 3- Always ask. We watched a video hosted by a silly scientist that was a little too excited about breast milk. The kids practiced diapering, swaddling, and feeding the dolls they had brought from home. And then we took a tour of the women's center where Colter is going to be born. Aspen and Bentley seemed to have a good time and I think they learned a lot as well.

House Update: Foundation Moldings

Today we got foundation moldings. They poured the foundation after I took these pictures and will be removing the moldings tomorrow.

Aspen Without Training Wheels

Aspen has been begging Adam and me to teach her to ride her bike without training wheels. I left the job to Adam because I really can't run right now, but went to watch. We took her over to the high school where she had plenty of grass and track to practice on.

Adam thought it would be best to start her on the grass

Before too long she was getting the hang of it. Bentley was very supportive.

She fell a few times, but never cried or got frustrated and always got right back up.

Taking it to the asphalt. Go Aspen!

Then to the track. Adam got a good workout. She needs a little bit more practice, but can ride a bike now!
