Aspen wanted a pink birthday because Bentley had a green birthday (her birthday is on St. Patrick's Day), and so we did our best to give her what she wanted, starting with decorating our house in pink balloons and pink streamers the night before. She was so surprised in the morning and so appreciative when she asked, "Who did this for me?" and we told her we had. She said, "Thank you, mom and dad, for doing this for me, it was so nice of you." Bentley loved the decorations too and kept reaching up, trying to grab them.
Aspen wanted hot chocolate and donuts for breakfast.
Of course we all had to wear pink.

We had a lunch-time birthday party with three of Aspen's favorite friends, plus mommies and siblings. We ate pizza and played a game called Roll and Play. The kids rolled a big, soft cube to choose a card and acted out what was on the card. Some of the activities included playing hide-and-go-seek (my favorite was Avaree's hiding spot in the hall), stacking blocks, and making silly faces.

Next we opened presents and had pink princess birthday cake. Kristin, why aren't you in any of these pictures?
I didn't get pictures of Mamie and Papi, who also stopped by to wish Aspen a Happy Birthday, but here is a picture of my brother, Jean, and his fiance, Kali.

Later that evening Aspen and Bentley got to open a birthday package from their great-aunt, Tata Bunny, who lives in France. Merci, Tata!

Best buddies in their matching pink princess shirts.
Time for bed. I love that Aspen is crying but still looking at the camera.
