Sick of Being Sick

I haven't blogged for FOREVER (since Thanksgiving). This was the view of the sunrise from our condo this morning. It was so beautiful I just had to take a picture. I haven't been venturing outside much lately but am happy to still be able to enjoy nature through our windows. I've been really sick with Crohn's disease (I was diagnosed almost 12 years ago) and some days haven't been able to get off the couch except to get my girls or me some food. Not everyday is like that, but the days that aren't have been spent trying to play catch-up. I feel so bad for my girls because we never get out, we just sit in front of the tv all day. My blog is normally my pretend life of perfectness where only good and fun things happen and everything is made of lemon-drops and gum-drops. Although, I've really enjoyed reading other's blogs when they get 'real', I've stuck with posting birthday parties, vacations, holidays, etc. I guess I wanted to explain why I haven't been out to play in the blogging world with all of you lately. I pray I'll start having more good days than bad. This sick person is not who I am supposed to be! I want to have a strong and healthy body that allows me to be confident as I pursue an active life (that's the positive phrase I always tell myself). I want to go on dates with my husband and to the park with my kids and never have a Crohn's symptom stop me from really living! I believe I will overcome this disease and will have the life I dream of. I am so grateful for my parents and for Adam who have all helped me so much. My dad has prepared a freezer full of my special diet approved meals (I have to mention he's really become a gourmet chef), my mom has come to clean my house, and they each have come to take care of my girls. I have been so blessed with a husband who has been more than understanding of my condition. He is more than I ever imagined in a husband. He treats me with love and concern, ready to do anything I ask, and always supportive of any treatment I want to try . He is my knight in shining armor and I love him so much! I know God is mindful of me and that Christ understands all that I'm going through. We are here to endure trials, to prove ourselves worthy of eternal life, and although I really want to be done with this sickness, I am grateful that I have been able to grow from it and am a different person, a little closer to God, because I have Crohn's disease.
